So this is what I was missing on the internets. Ambiguous lighting sources are incredibly effective (for me, at least). It's really doing my tired brain in. Hot stuff.

When I was a wee kid (maybe five, six, four?) I remember having... oh my God. Nightmares about soft, white saclike things just like those. Crawling everywhere, making strange noises. Get out of my little childhood traumas. (Did you intend for them to be expressing different emotions with their beady little eyes? 'Cause it's really creepycool.)
